Army helps in extinguishing fires
By the order of the Minister of Defense Army of Serbia is helping the civilian population and the forces of the Ministry of Interior’s Department for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Serbia in fighting fires in areas in the municipalities of Cacak, Gornji Milanovac.
In addition to soldiers and officers dozens of vehicles including armored vehicles were hired. The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army Major General Milan Bjelica was on site, while soldiers and officers from other Serbian Army garrisons are on a stand-by.
Thirty members of the Serbian Army from Krusevac garrison put out the fire in areas of pine forests in the region above Bruse and Kriva Reka. The helicopters of the Serbian Armed Forces also took part in extinguishing fires.
