Donation to the Self Access English Learning Centre in Nis



In the framework of the Partnership Goal concerning training and testing of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in English language, defence attaches of the PELT donor countries – the USA, Norway and Sweden visited the Self Access English Learning Centre of the Army Command in Nis.

During the visit, the representatives of the Defence Attaché Office of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade presented the donation of books, journals, magazines and newspapers in English. The donated materials will help in the instructional methodical-professional preparation of teachers of English in adopting new teaching methods and more efficient use of the Self Access Centre.

On behalf of the Army Command, the guests were welcomed by the Assistant Commander for Support, Colonel Dragan Stankovic, who said on that occasion that establishing and equipping the Self Access English Learning Centre has significantly improved the teaching method and are grateful for that to all donors.

Self Access Centre in Nis is equipped with multimedia cabinet with computer, digital video and audio equipment, the latest softwares for learning English, book library, and constant internet connection to visit websites specifically designed for learning English language for common use and for military use.

In the forthcoming period, the Self Access English Learning Centre is planned for modernization. The use of modern technologies and software platforms will provide efficiency and exchange of teaching process and teaching materials and tests by inter-communication between 14 similar centres in the garrisons of the Serbian Armed Forces.
