Mountain running competition in Dimitrovgrad finished
In Dimitrovgrad the third international military championship in mountain running, in which the participating athletes from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia and our country. In the men's side there were 38 athletes from nine countries, and 17 who competed in the women's competition, from six countries.
In the overall standings, where the results bodovali three most successful competitor in the men's and two competitors in the women's competition, first place went to the team of the armed forces of Romania, while the second placed team of Serbian position. Third place was won team of Bulgaria.
Romania won the team event in men's competition, second place went to the team of Croatia, while the team of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army, consisting of Sergeant First Class Igor Vukovic, Captain and Major Blazo Maksimovic Nesevski Alexander, went to third.
Members of the team of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia – lieutenant Nevena Jovanovic and professional soldier Ksenija Bubnjevic, Mariana Cegar Lukic, Natasa Culafic, all triumphed in the women's team competition, ahead of Romania and Bulgaria.
Victory in the individual male and female, made by members of Romania - Captain Mihaela Botezan and Sergeant Marcel Laza. Second and third place in the men's competition was won by soldiers from Romania Levante Rac and Ovidie Mutu, while in the women's competition second place was won by the legendary Bulgarian athlete Daniela Jordanova, while the third place went to representative of our country Ksenija Bubnjevic.
The competition was held in Dimitrovgrad in nice and sunny weather, in the presence of numerous spectators. Organizers are particularly pleased that for the first time members of the Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia had taken part in the competition. Representatives of the armed forces that participated in the third championship in mountain running were given best scores for their hospitality and organization of the competition.
The official declaration of winners was held at the central square in Dimitrovgrad and on this occasion the best awards to individuals and teams were given by the deputy head of the Serbian delegation at the CISM Lt. Gen. Aleksandar Zivkovic, Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Todorov, Deputy Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Dr. Vasil Velchev and Municipal Sports Associate Aleksandar Andrejevic.
