Victory day over fascism



On the occasion of the victory over fascism, the acting president of Serbia and the National Assembly speaker Slavica Djukic - Dejanovic, laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Avala. The delegation included the Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac and Serbian Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Ljubisa Dikovic.

Slavica Djukic – Dejanovic wrote the following in the memorial book: - Serbian remembers its heroes, both known and unknown, who laid their lives in the foundations of victory over fascism.

On the same occasion, at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Avala a wreath was laid by the delegation of the Serbian Army Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Milan Bjelica heading the delegation.

Delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army laid a wreath at the Monument to Soviet war veterans who died in a plane crash on 19 October 1964.

On occasion of marking the Day of Victory over Fascism today in the Memorial Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators wreaths were laid by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the City and the delegation of SUBNOR Serbia.

Memorial ceremony at the 67th anniversary of the end of World War II was attended by representatives of the embassies of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan.

Following high state and military honors at the monument paid to the liberators, the delegation laid wreaths at the monument and the Soviet soldier.

On this day in 1945, Berlin, after heavy fighting in the Russian Red Army , signed the act of Germany surrendering unconditionally.
