"Open day" in the Guard



The honorary alignment of soldiers in blue berets, which was welcomed by hundreds of foreign leaders today in Belgrade barracks "Dedinje" was lined up for all the citizens who had the desire to get a peek into the everyday life of the Serbian Army Guard, the most elite units of our army.

The "Open Day" was attended by the Serbian Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Ljubisa Dikovic and his associates.

An attractive program prepared by the Guard, which tomorrow celebrates 182 years of existence, has attracted many visitors who are had the opportunity to see the most interesting parts of the training and guards in 12 points.

Guard Commander Brigadier General Milomir Todorovic was pleased with the turnout of citizens who came in large numbers to see how the unit operates.

Cultural and artistic association "Lira" presented to a combination of games, after which the new exercir followed, especially prepared for this occasion. Exercir, drawn to the sound of the orchestra Guard, elicited applause from the many guests, who were breathless at seeing the skills of the Guard

- It was especially great interest in view of the Honorary Guard Battalion and its activities carried out in the everyday tasks. A large number of operating points that you can see here shows the diversity and complexity of the tasks performed by members of the Guard, said Todorovic, General and expressed hope that the actions of these units and continue to demonstrate commitment to the people.

Honorary artillery fire and a demonstration of the operations of the military police at the checkpoint drew the attention of the largest number of children, while older ones enjoyed the view of motor vehicles, particularly the representative from the period of the former Yugoslavia.
