New exhibition "From Stanic to Stancic"

In the gallery of the House tonight, the Army of Serbia opened a joint exhibition of two of our great art - Miljenka Stancic (1926-1977) and Vojo Stanic (born 1924), hence the name "From Stancic to Stanic." Although their paintings differ, however, in both there is a deviation from current trends. Each in its own way, shaped reality in their surreal key.

Images belong to a private collection Dr. Dragoljub Milicevic, and some of these masters of magical realism are the property and the Army. Both artists were once exhibited in the House, so this is their return to the gallery walls.

The exhibition was shown at the end of last year at the Modern Gallery in Valjevo and was rated as one of the most important events in 2011. year. Now it can be enjoyed by the Belgrade art audience.

Guests at the exhibition were welcomed by Lt. Col. Slavoljub Markovic, Director of Media Center "Odbrana", Dr Dragoljub Milicevic and art historian Nikola Kusovac, who is also the author of settings.

"It is my honor to welcome you again in the Media Center" Odbrana "to socialize with another exhibiton and artists," said Lt. Col. Markovic and concluded that this exhibition is a good continuation of the artistic program that Media Center is developing for over a year.

"Collectors are very vain people, they must show what they have," admitted Dr. Dragoljub Milicevic, pointing out that his paintings make sense only when others see them. He added that the role of collectors today, when most museums closed, very important: "Collectors would be right make their collections readily available to the public and younger generations."

"All we that these two great masters of art are doing, Stanic and Stancic before him, is basically a fine cherishing of life and heritage in the arts. Art comes out of values, it has a life and a flow of its own. Through the works of these artists you will see that I was right, "said Nikola Kusovac, opened the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open until 12 May every day except Sunday and holidays, from 11 am to 19 pm, and visitors will be able to buy the catalogue published by the Media Center.
