Exhibitions "Movies we loved" and "Film poster 1941-1945"



Exhibitions "Movies we loved" and "Movie Poster 1941-1945" tonight at the House of the Army of Serbia opened by renowned actor and director Rados Bajic who pointed out that he was witness to the times in which the army gave strong support to development of national cinema and the Army of Serbia includes the many important projects in all areas of cultural creation.

In the Great and Small Gallery of the House Army Belgrade the audience will have the opportunity to view the unique collection of movie posters from the Historical Archives pf Pozarevac until 14 April. At the opening ceremony, besides Bajic, the head of the Yugoslav Film Archive and director Dinko Tucakovic, President of the City of Pozarevac Miomir Ilic, director of the Historical Archives Pozarevac Nikoli? Jasmina and Lt. Col. Slavoljub Markovic, Director of Media Center's "Odbrana", which is the Exhibition organized support addressed the present..

In his address Lieutenant Colonel Markovic said that this exhibition, in terms of content, unlike previous ones presented works of art and photographs, may slightly drift from the concept of Media Center's exhibition "Odbrana", but that, this is another example of cooperation with eminent cultural institutions.

Exhibition "The movies we loved" traces the development of domestic film industry from 1947 to 1980. It represents unique achievements of top directors, and film advertising material represents a war film, social or psychological drama, works of prose, and fairy tales, children's films, musicals, comedies filmed.

The exhibition is a chronological display of films, without the division of genres and authors' names. The authors' intention was that the settings are presented to the unique achievements of the Serbian and Yugoslav production at a time when, apart from the background film production companies, otherwise the separation was not possible.

Among the authors who have found their place in the exhibition are Purisa Djordjevic, V. Bilajic, Georges Skrigin, Kokan Rakonjac and other important directors of our cinema.

The exhibition, "Movie Poster 1941-1945" documents the European cinematographic creativity during World War II. Posters from the exhibition of films speak German, Hungarian, Swedish, and American productions of this period, as a whole leaves a strong impression on events and trends of the past.

Exhibitions organized in the House of the Army made extensive efforts are Blagoje Ckonjevic and the gift of his son Marko Ckonjevic from the Historical Archives of Požarevac.

The authors of the exhibition and of the catalog are MA Jasmina Nikolic, Dragana Miloradovic and Goran Mitic.
