Bilateral military consultations between Serbia and Sweden



The Defense Ministry held bilateral military consultations between representatives of the Ministries of Defence of Serbia and the Kingdom of Sweden. The delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia led by Colonel Predrag Kraljevic, Acting Head of the International Military Cooperation, met with the delegation of Sweden armed forces Captain Lennart Danielsson, head of the International Sector of the Kingdom of Swedish armed forces.

These are the first bilateral consultations after a long period of time, and are therefore the basis for the signing of bilateral military cooperation plan.

During the talks, representatives of organizational units of MoD and SAF proposed recommendations for the establishment of cooperation in the field of budget and finance, human resources management, gender equality and participation of MoD and SAF in multinational operations.

Sweden is ready to provide assistance to achieve the required degree of interoperability of our armed forces and the establishment of cooperation with the National University of Defense and the Military Academy of the Kingdom of Sweden.

The representatives of Swedish MoD expressed interest to be acquainted with the contents of the Project for Conventional Ammunition Storage and Ordnance Disposal as well as for the construction and development of civilian capacity to participate in multinational operations.

The Delegation of Sweden visited the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations of Joint Operations Command and SAC (Self Access Centre) for learning English in the SAF GS, with the Training and Doctrine Command (J-7) SAF.
