US-Serbia mixed Joint Committee
The Defense Ministry held a regular meeting of the Joint Commission Serbian - the U.S. for defense system reform issues. The Members of the U.S. Joint Commission were headed by Professor Thomas Young of the Center for Civil-Military Relations in Monterrey.The meeting was led by Chairman of the Joint Commission, Major General Dr. Bozidar Forca, Head of Strategic Planning Department, and attended by members of the Joint Commission of the Ministry of Defence, General Staff of Serbia and the Serbian Army Operational Command.
The Members of the U.S. Joint Commission were received by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Miscevic.
The main topics of the meeting were education of the members of Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia in 2012 the Republic of Serbia and the United States. The plan of education in the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia for 2012 has been determined. Also, an agreement was reached that two members of the Ministry of Defence should this year are sent to the Centre for Civil-Military Relations on a 13-week course which will be funded by the U.S. side.It was concluded that the Joint Commission's work is done according to plan, and that forms of education should be implemented and realized in cooperation with the Center for Civil-Military Relations in Monterey.
