Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Cobras” Sub-Echelon

The Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobras" is intended for the security protection of certain persons and objects of special importance, the security protection of foreign military delegations during visits to the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and the anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage protection of certain persons and objects. The Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobras" consists of a command, a command platoon, and six companies of the Special Purpose Military Police.
The Command of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobras" is located in Belgrade, and April 14 is marked as the unit's day in memory of April 14, 1978, when the Military Police Department for Counter-Terrorist Operations was formed.
Members of the sub-echelon of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobras" are equipped with T-18C ballistic protective equipment sets and armed with 5.56 mm FN SCAR-L automatic rifles in STD and CQC versions and 9 mm GLOCK 17 pistols.
