204th Air Force Brigade Sub-Echelon



The 204th Air Force Brigade (204th AF Bde) is tasked with controlling and protecting airspace, providing aerial fire support to Army and Air Force units, air transport, aerial reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, training cadet pilots of the Air Force Academy, as well as providing combat and logistical support to its own and supporting units, and assisting civil authorities as part of the third mission of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The unit was formed on November 15, 2006, as the 204th Aviation Base, through the integration of the units of the Air Force and Air Defence stationed at the Batajnica Airbase, and on January 15, 2011, it was restructured into the 204th Air Force Brigade. The 204th Air Force Brigade consists of the Brigade Command and seven units of the rank of squadron, division, and battalion.

The 204th Air Force Brigade proudly continues the traditions of the 6th Fighter Regiment of the Royal Yugoslav Air Force, which heroically defended the city of Belgrade from the air attack of Nazi Germany in 1941.

The sub-echelon is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Boban Janjić.

The brigade flag is carried by Lieutenant Pavle Milošević.

Members of the 204th Air Force Brigade sub-echelon are armed with modular assault rifles AM 6.5/7.62 mm M-20 with reflex sights (RS-C) and 9 mm EZ 9 pistols of domestic production.
