126th ASEWG Brigade Sub-Echelon
The 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade (126th ASEWG Bde) is intended for continuous surveillance of the entire airspace above and on the approaches to the Republic of Serbia, timely and reliable detection, identification and tracking of all aircraft in the airspace, radar support for Air Force and Air Defence units, guidance of fighter aircraft and provision of navigational assistance to aircraft in distress, as well as for informing units and commands of the Serbian Armed Forces about the situation in the airspace.
The brigade consists of a command, three battalion-level units and 11 company/independent platoon-level units. The 126th ASEWG command is located in Belgrade, and October 12 is marked as the unit's day, when the brigade was formed in 1992 from the 3rd and 5th ASEWG Regiments.
The sub-echelon is commanded by Colonel Perica Krbavac.
The brigade flag is carried by Lieutenant Mihajlo Kojadinović.
Members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade sub-echelon are armed with modular AM 6.5/7.62 mm M-20 assault rifles with reflex sights (RS-C) and 9 mm EZ 9 pistols of domestic production.
