250th Air Defence Missile Brigade Sub-Echelon




The 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade (250th AD Missile Bde) is intended to protect larger and more important economic facilities and regions, administrative and political centers and forces of the Serbian Armed Forces from reconnaissance and airspace operations, by performing tasks of continuous control and protection of the sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia and by planning and conducting defensive air defence operations.

The brigade consists of a command and six divisions: three air defence missile divisions and three self-propelled air defence missile divisions. The brigade command is located in Belgrade. The divisions are armed with newly acquired missile systems "FK-3", "HQ-17AE", "Pantsir-S1" and modernized missile systems "Neva M1T" and "Kub M2(SM)".

The day and the Saint Patron’s Day of the unit - St. Stephen of Decani, is celebrated on November 24, in memory of the day when the 250th Air Defence Missile Regiment was formed on November 24, 1962, with the task of air defence of the strategic facility Belgrade. For exceptional feats, the brigade was awarded the Order of the People's Hero in 2000.

The sub-echelon is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Dragiša Milinović.

The brigade flag is carried by Captain Anđela Bogojević.

Members of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade sub-echelon are armed with modular AM 6.5/7.62 mm M-20 assault rifles with reflex sights (RS-C) and 9 mm EZ 9 pistols of domestic production.
