Military Academy Cadets Sub-Echelon
The cadets of the Military Academy are the bearers of tradition, habits, but also of bravery, determination, perseverance, and other virtues required to forge and strengthen an officer who is ready to stand as a defender of the homeland, for the army and the state at any moment.
The Military Academy of the University of Defence is the modern successor of the Artillery School, founded on March 18, 1850, by decree of Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević. Many officers who graduated from the Military Academy have held the highest positions in the state, which proves that the officers of the Military Academy have influenced not only the development and advancement of the Serbian military but also the state as a whole.
The education and training of officer personnel for the needs of the defence system of the Republic of Serbia are guided by the tradition and history of our people, the development of modern military thought, and contemporary technological achievements.
The mission of the Military Academy is “to build, through the system of military education, the identity of a professional officer–leader: honourable, loyal, competent, and prepared for the intellectual and ethical challenges of the officer’s calling in the service of the homeland, the Republic of Serbia.”
The sub-echelon is commanded by Major Miroslav Jovanović.
The flag of the Military Academy is carried by Captain Andrija Milosavljević.
Members of the Military Academy Cadets sub-echelon are cadets of the 147th, 148th, and 149th classes of the Military Academy.
