DAY OF SERBIAN UNITY, FREEDOM, AND THE NATIONAL FLAG

The Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag is established in honorable remembrance of the Serbian flag carried by Serbian soldiers during the breakthrough of the Salonika Front on 15th  September 1918 – a historic moment when our people, united around a common goal, achived epic victory and made historical example of courage and unity.

The greatest strength of the Serbian people lies in their unity. Throughout the centuries, this unity has served as the foundation for preserving the national identity, culture, and traditions of our people. It is through the power of unity that the Serbian people, in pivotal moments of history, achieved freedom through remarkable victories.

We have inherited the Serbian flag from our ancestors, and we owe it to future generations to preserve it, pure and unstained. The flag stands as a symbol of unity, a symbol of the past, and a reflection of our faith in the bright future we are building together. Every time the Serbian tricolour flag waves in front of our eyes, we must remember what it stands for: red colour for the blood that was shed, blue for reedom and faith, and white for purity, honesty and peace. May these colours carry no more shed of tears or blood for future generations, only red colour for happiness, blue for freedom, and white for a bright future.
The Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag was first celebrated in Belgrade, followed by commemorations in Bijeljina, Niš, and Novi Sad.

This day reminds us that, no matter where we live, we are united with a common goal of preserving freedom, national dignity, and Serbian unity.
