Wreaths laid at Monument to Pilots - Defenders of Belgrade



On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić laid a wreath today at the Monument to Pilots – Defenders of Belgrade at the Zemun Quay to mark the Remembrance Day commemorating the beginning of the Second World War in Yugoslavia.  The ceremony was also attended by acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić and Head of Office of the Minister of Defence Brig. Gen. Goran Momčilović.
Wreaths were laid by an MOD and SAF delegation led by Air Force and Air Defence Commnader Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Antić, representatives of the City of Belgrade and associations preserving the traditions of the Serbian liberation wars.
  The wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to Pilots – Defenders of Belgrade marked the 83rd anniversary of the bombing of Belgrade, which was the beginning of the Nazi Germany’s attack on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the Second World War.
