Safest Military Driver Awards

The traditional MOD and SAF Safest Driver Awards for the year 2023 were handed at a meeting of the Council for the Safety of Military Traffic Participants, held at the Topčider Barracks in Belgrade today.
Sergeant Major Jovan Medojević from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade was pronounced the safest driver in the NCO category, while Lance Corporal Života Jerinić and civilian Goran Radojević from the Central Logistics Base received the same award in the category of professional soldiers and civilians. Over the past year, they reached the highest mileage driving military vehicles to transport passengers, dangerous liquids and oversized equipment, without being involved in any traffic accidents or violations.

The best drivers were handed awards by the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, who is also President of the Council for the Safety of Military Traffic Participants.

During the meeting, traffic safety in the Republic of Serbia was discussed, with particular emphasis on the safety of military drivers, and conclusions and measures to further improve traffic safety were adopted.
The meetings of the Council for the Safety of Military Traffic Participants take place twice a year. Besides the officers who hold the most responsible positions in the SAF transportation service, representatives of the MOI Traffic Safety Agency, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Belgrade and Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad are also involved in the Council’s work.
