Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević hosted a reception for female members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in Belgrade’s Central Military Club today to mark March 8 - International Women's Day.
Minister Vučević extended his best wishes to all female members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and showed deep respect and gratitude to all women who make our defence system stronger and more stable.

Following in the tradition of famous heroines and all the known and unknown women whose deeds, sacrifices and courage left an indelible mark in both war and peace, female members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces do their best every day to make our motherland even safer and more secure.
  - Thank you for all the effort and sacrifices you make every day to ensure the well-being of our country. Over the past years, you have shown that you can serve in our military ranks equally well and rise to most challenges which are part of military profession, and your great results and success testify to the fact that your colleagues can count on you to take on even the most demanding tasks. Thank you once again. I look forward to our new victories, to our joint future success. I hope you will continue to protect the country, the Ministry and the Armed Forces, your families and most importantly - yourselves, because that way you protect all of us - Minister Vučević said.
International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8, honours the struggle for economic, political and social equality of women and men. March 8 was officially recognized as International Women’s Day in 1917, and the United Nations designated 1975 as International Women's Year when official celebration of International Women's Day began.
