Meeting between Minister Vučević and First Vice-Chairman of NPC Standing Committee
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the First Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Li Hongzhong.
Minister Vučević thanked the People’s Republic of China on its unwavering support for the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. China has consistently maintained a principled position on the Kosovo-Metohija issue, the minister said, which is proof of the true friendship between the two countries.He highlighted Serbia’s long-term strategic commitment to pursuing independent foreign policy. Despite all the challenges, Minister Vučević said, the Government of the Republic of Serbia will continue to pursue a responsible policy of peace and cooperation, abide by the international law and fully adhere to the agreements reached so far.
First Vice-Chairman Li Hongzhong thanked Minister Vučević for the hospitality extended to him, as well as the opportunity to meet and exchange opinions on the cooperation between the two countries during his visit to Serbia. Mutual support between the two countries pertaining to sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as excellent relations between the two presidents, he stressed, are a confirmation of the traditional “steel friendship” between the two countries.Li Hongzhong described the bilateral cooperation as well developed and stated that there was still room for its enhancement.
