SAF aircraft at air show in Skopje

Members of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces took part in today’s air show at the Stenkovec airfield near Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, which was organized by Aeroclub Skopje to mark 100 years since the establishment of that flying club and the 100th anniversary of that country’s aviation.
Two MiG-29 multi-role fighters and a Lasta trainer aircraft of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence participated in the dynamic part of the display, and the visitors also had the opportunity to see an H-145M multi-role helicopter.

The Serbian MiGs, which had flown in from the Serbian military airfield "Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" situated in Niš, demonstrated to the audience parts of the horizontal, oblique and vertical manoeuvres flying in pairs at maximum power and using afterburners to the delight of the audience, who greeted the guardians of the Serbian sky with applause.
This is the first time Serbian MiG-29s have participated in an international event of this type.

Lasta crews demonstrated some of the manoeuvring capabilities of this trainer aircraft, which is an important stage in the training of the Military Academy cadets, future pilots.
According to the head of our delegation of airmen, Chief of Staff of the Air Force and Air Defence Command, Brigadier General Gordan Pavlović, events like this are a great opportunity for our pilots and technicians to show their skills and for our equipment to be showcased at an international event that brings together aviation enthusiasts. It is also an opportunity for them to exchange their experiences and acquire new ones.

- It is important for us to take part in this air show, because participating in events like this is important for promoting our Air Force and Air Defence, as well as for demonstrating our capabilities - said General Pavlović.
Approximately 30 aircraft used for different purposes participated in the dynamic part of the air show in Skopje today, and more than 40 aircraft were showcased in the static part of the program.
