Humanitarian Mine Action Instructor Training

In cooperation with EUCOM, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have completed a course on demining and UXO disposal at “Ratko Pavlović Ćićko” barracks in Prokuplje.
The course was attended by Army and Air Force and Air Defence engineers who had successfully completed the first cycle of training in accordance with international standards and earned the title of Humanitarian Mine Action Instructor Level 1.

Through lectures, discussions, exchange of experience and practical work on the training grounds, they learned about modern trends in the tactics of combating UXOs and IEDs in urban environment, with an emphasis on identification, safe-distance removal and controlled destruction.
All SAF members have successfully completed the entire training programme, earning the title of Technician Level 2. As in the previous cycle, EUCOM instructors were in charge of the training and certification, and the course has improved the ability of the Serbian Armed Forces to provide Counter-IED training to own personnel.

The Serbian Armed Forces have a successful cooperation with EUCOM in numerous areas of mutual interest, which helps improve the capabilities and interoperability of the units and contributes to the development of overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the USA.
