Counter-IED training

Serbian Armed Forces engineers have undergone Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) Training at the "Ratko Pavlović Ćićko" barracks in Prokuplje this week.

The activity was co-organized with Allied Joint Force Command Naples as part of the Partnership for Peace Program. The aim was to improve the capabilities of the Demining and UXO Disposal Platoon of the 310th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Army Brigade.

Through lectures, discussions, and case studies, the International Instructors Team presented to SAF members the procedures followed by NATO forces when dealing with IEDs, lessons learned from using unmanned platforms for such purposes, as well as the latest trends in tactics for combating such threats to the troops in an urban environment. They also exchanged experiences of identifying, demining and destroying UXO.

This activity is a continuation of a successful cooperation between the SAF and JFC Naples and it improves the ability of the SAF personnel to identify, discover and destroy IEDs safely.
