Peacekeeping operations pre-deployment combat vehicle driver training

As part of their preparations for deployment to UNIFIL, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have attended additional three-week armoured combat vehicle driver training at the Army Training Centre’s training grounds in Požarevac.
The training was attended by specially selected professional soldiers with considerable driving experience, who will be assigned as armoured combat vehicle drivers on this peacekeeping operation. The training aims to refresh their skills at safe and secure operation and maintenance of combat vehicles on missions in AOR.

In accordance with the training program, the soldiers first had theoretical lessons on the characteristics of vehicles, special systems and devices and their specificities, and then practiced precise driving on different types of terrain, negotiating obstacles, driving on slopes and driving at night and in adverse weather conditions.
At the end of the training, the soldiers took a driving test and their skills were assessed. The results confirmed that soldiers possess excellent skills. During their collective training prior to deployment to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), members of the infantry company will continue to build on the knowledge and skills they have acquired at the Army Training Centrе, in order to be fully prepared for the execution of all assignments they might be tasked with in the area of operation.
