Meeting between Minister Vučević and U.S. Ambassador Hill



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met with the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, today.
According to Minister Vučević, visits from high-level U.S. delegations in the recent period indicate that the U.S.-Serbia relations are strengthening.

He informed Ambassador Hill of Serbian officials’ future activities that would be carried out in Serbia and the USA, with the aim of further improving bilateral relations. He highlighted the upcoming visit from the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, to the Ohio National Guard in Columbus and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington.
Minister Vučević thanked the U.S. Embassy for exerting its influence to calm the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. Both sides highlighted the necessity to form the Association/Community of Serb Majority Municipalities as a prerequisite for continuing the negotiation process.
 
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill said that the USA was Serbia’s reliable partner, placing particular emphasis on defence cooperation. He said that the U.S. Embassy, ​​for its part, would do everything in its power to make sure that our high-level delegations, during their visit to the USA, fulfil the objectives of their visit and were received by high Pentagon and DoD officials.
  Ambassador Hill said that the USA was hoping to continue cooperation on joint exercises soon, and added that the USA was ready to help the process of equipping the Serbian Armed Forces.
