Forward air controllers undergo training

Professional members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade units are undergoing routine training in air traffic communications and airspace control.
Forward air controllers (FAC) serving in ASEWG companies are undergoing the training in order to maintain the level of skill required for fighter control and providing navigational aid to aircraft in an emergency.

During the training, FACs work closely with fighter interceptor crews and the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency (SMATSA), practicing jointly the procedures for providing navigational aid to aircraft flying above the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
Such missions require extremely competent FACs, excellent coordination between all participants in the air traffic communications, as well as highly trained ASEWG combat teams.

The FACs’ deep commitment and high motivation, as well as professional cooperation between combat teams and units guarantee successful training, which improves the ability of AF and AD units to control and protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
