Minister Vučević Talks with Minister of Defence of Slovenia



Today in Krems, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević had talks with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Marjan Šarec on the sidelines of the meeting of ministers of defence of the Central European Defence Cooperation in the expanded format.

Vučević expressed his gratitude to the Slovenian minister for the initiative and endeavours to support the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF) through the European Peace Facility.

The minister reminded that during recent visit by Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović to Slovenia, interest had been shown in conducting mountain training of members our armed forces on training areas in that country.

Vučević and Šarec exchanged views on the security situation in the region with the accent on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and they stressed the role of KFOR in the preservation of peace and stability in the province.

Minister Šarec expressed gratitude for the assistance that our country had rendered in the fight against fires which broke out in Slovenia during previous summer, and he particularly underlined the importance of cooperation among the states of the region in emergencies.

The interlocutors jointly assessed that the defence relations between Serbia and Slovenia are developed and comprehensive, but they agreed that there is room for its quantitative and qualitative enhancement.
 
Ministers Vučević and Šarec reconfirmed their intention regarding the conduct of mutual highest level visits in the period to come in order to concretise the steps for the development of the bilateral defence cooperation.
