Representatives of the U.S. Army and the Serbian MoD and SAF have started two-day expert talks in the Small War Hall of the old General Staff building in Belgrade today.

Thematically, the talks were set to cover the area of recruitment and development of personnel, system of appointments and career management, normative planning of military service, promotions and career change.

The meeting was opened by the Head of MoD Human Resources Department Brigadier General Sla?an ?or?evi?, who pointed out the importance that the Serbian side attaches to reform of human resources management system.

- Our interest in the human resource management system of the US Armed Forces is primarily focused on acquiring the knowledge about such a developed system that we could apply to improve our system. Our interest is raised by the fact that lately we obtain the personnel profiled by training in the US military education institutions, whose career needs to be appropriately - General ?or?evi? said.

Head of the US delegation, the Retired Colonel and Professor at the US Army War College Bernard Grifard pointed out that human resources management is an exceptional challenge for any army.

- We are here to exchange the ideas. We have an example of how we manage human resources in very large forces. Some of our experiences can be applied also in smaller armed forces, such as those in the field of NCO corps – the guest from the USA said.
