Minister Stefanović: The Kornet has significantly increased the capabilities of our anti-tank units
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has said that our armed forces are equipped with some of the most modern weapons and military equipment, which have significantly increased the operational capabilities of our units, making SAF a guarantor of peace and stability in our country.
- The Fourth Army Brigade units, which are equipped with “Kornet” anti-tank missile systems, are currently undergoing intensive training. Our gun crews are practicing target acquisition and tracking as well as firing preparation, to be followed by live fire practices whose purpose is to check the knowledge and skills they have acquired in using this weapon efficiently by day or night – said Minister Stefanović. According to him, by introducing one of the most modern anti-tank warfare weapons into the Serbian Armed Forces’ armament, the anti-tank capabilities of our military have been significantly increased. He has also emphasized that, besides new equipment, continuous soldier training is extremely important, too.
- We are training and arming ourselves in order to send a clear message to everyone, that Serbia is firmly committed to living in peace and stability and to having a strong military to ensure that. A military whose strength clearly states that nobody should even think of disturbing the peace of mind of our people or stopping us on our path to development, because we will be able to protect what is ours – said Minister Stefanović.
