- Our First Brigade executes daily its regular tasks of protecting our state. Today, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand how hard-working the men of our First Brigade are, and I want the people of Serbia to see as well what an ordinary day in the lives and work of our soldiers looks like, when we are not at training grounds, or carrying out exercises, but when we work in the barracks on regular maintenance of our artillery weapons, when we train in the use of “Maljutka” type missiles on simulators.

He underlined that one can observe immense work and zeal of all in the First Brigade, starting from its Commander, General Zoran Nasković to the last soldier.

- One can see tremendous work done by these men which shows their dedication and how much they love their armed forces and their country, and how well they safeguard and maintain the assets that they possess. In the upcoming period, we will endeavour to equip these units with new armament, from the “Kornets” to our armoured personnel carriers “Lazar” and “Miloš”. Our armed forces will always be a priority, and we will try, by increasing their standard of living and building flats, to further improve their living conditions - Minister Stefanović stated.

During today’s visit, the minister attended the training of operators and toured the park of technical assets, where he was informed about the manner of the maintenance of the materiel used by the units in the barracks “Bačka”, and he also visited the premises for Orthodox and Roman-Catholic divine services.

“I am proud of our armed forces! I am proud of the people who do not withdraw and who do not flinch when the times are tough, who are always there for Serbia with all their hearts! Today, I have visited members of our units deployed in Bačka Topola garrison. I wanted to hear what is the vision that our artillery and mechanised infantry have for further directions of the strengthening of our armed forces”, wrote Minister Stefanović on his Instagram account (@nebojsastefanovic).
