The Military Grammar School Day and its 52nd anniversary have been marked today in this educational institution’s cinema hall.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has congratulated the Military Grammar School on its anniversary. Congratulations have also been sent by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, and the Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, PhD.

Addressing the guests, Head of the Military Grammar School, Captain Miroslav Ćitić, pointed out that the Military Grammar School had always been recognizable as the first link in the military education system.

- The future of the Serbian Armed Forces enters through the Military Grammar School’s door. In a month’s time, another generation will graduate from this secondary school and a new generation of Serbia’s best students will enrol. So far, we have shaped forty-six classes into mature, educated and responsible people, and we will continue to do so in the future - said Captain Ćitić.
According to him, the Military Grammar School has seen more than seven thousand students and over six hundred employees so far.

-  Since the school was founded, teachers and students have been cultivating a sense of belonging and love for science, art and military profession, establishing a decades-long tradition. The students attending the Military Grammar School know that knowledge is power and our strongest weapon and that honour is their property. They are devoted to military profession and are determined to become honourable Serbian officers - said the Head of the Military Grammar School.
This year, the Military Grammar School has awarded its plaque to Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources, Katarina Tomašević, for her contribution to the development of the Military Grammar School. The Petnica Science Centre was awarded a plaque in recognition of years of successful cooperation on the development of students' educational abilities, and Jelena Gledić has accepted the award on behalf of that institution. The Military Grammar School has also presented certificates of appreciation to the representatives of the "Zastava Film" Military Film Centre, and an award to the Terazije Theatre.
During the ceremony, a documentary film about the Military Grammar School, made by the "Zastava Film" Military Film Centre, was premiered, and a performance was delivered on stage, featuring the Military Grammar School students.
The Military Grammar School was founded on this day in 1970 by the order of the then State Secretary for National Defence, as an institution responsible for educating, training and motivating students to continue their education at military academies.
