Minister Stefanović attends Air Traffic Normalisation Meeting

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD attended today the meeting of the Serbian government’s working group on the normalisation of air traffic over the Balkans, which was held in the Guard Club in Topčider.
According to Stefanović, it is necessary to analyse the current situation, which is extremely complex, and establish guidelines for further action, in order for Serbia to protect its interests.

“Unilateral actions taken to normalize air traffic in the lower layer above our southern province, are contrary to Resolution 1244, and let’s be honest, they will probably continue. We must think carefully about how not to let time just pass by and how to prevent a sequence of events leading to them actually bypassing us. We have to assess what we can do concretely, through talks with international forces, in order to protect our interests," said Minister Stefanović.  The working group meeting, chaired by the Minister of Defence, was attended by Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić and other members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces -  members of the working group, as well as members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Office for the Coordination of Affairs in the Process of Negotiation with the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina, Civil Aviation Directorate and Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services SMATSA.
