Minister Stefanović attends session of Parliamentary Defence Committee



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD attended today the 17th Session of the Parliamentary Defence and Internal Affairs Committee, which discussed and accepted information on the Ministry of Defence's work in the periods April-June and July-September 2021.
Minister Stefanović informed members of the National Assembly in detail about the activities undertaken by members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces aimed at keeping the peace and stability in our country, as well as activities and measures implemented to improve the defence system in the second and third quarters of this year. He pointed out that the results achieved over the said periods of time were in keeping with our country’s strategic commitment to strengthen the defence system, both by equipping it with modern combat systems and improving working conditions and living standards. He also said that members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces carried out all their tasks successfully and preserved the security and stability in our homeland.
 
Members of the Committee assessed positively service members’ professionalism and efforts to carry out the priority tasks in the reporting period and expressed full support for their further efforts to accomplish their primary tasks. During the discussion, Minister Stefanović and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces answered the Committee members’ questions and provided clarifications regarding the information discussed.

According to the members of the Committee, the information about the Ministry of Defence’s work is thorough, high quality and provides a comprehensive insight into the work and results achieved by the Ministry of Defence in the reporting period. The session, which was closed to the public, was chaired by Aleksandar Marković, the Chairman of the Committee.
