Minister presents keys for 27 flats

Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac presented the keys to 27 flats to retired and active members of SAF and MoD in Marka Celebonovica Street at Bezanijska kosa.

- It is my pleasure and honor to open the new year for MoD by presenting the keys to 27 flats which have been finished at Bezanijska kosa. During last year, we managed to solve 600 cases of housing issues by allocating flats or giving loans, and we intend to continue this work, “said the minister stressing that the building of these flats had started almost a decade ago.

Sutanovac also mentioned that MoD had intensified talks with the Minister for the Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic regarding the construction of the so called “cheap” flats.

- These flats will not only be cheap but also of good quality, and I expect this to be another option for solving the housing issues of retired and active members of SAF and MoD.

In response to the reporters’ questions, he said that it is still not clear as to what exactly happened in the vicinity of Rasevac village near Kursumlija.

- We are still investigating this event and we have no final findings as to what had happened near the administrative line. We will do our best to find out what happened in cooperation with KFOR and if this incident had been directed against the non-Albanian population or it is just an example of hooliganism.

In his words, the vicinity of this village is a space where the shootings occur rather frequently, and this shooting is not directed against Rasevac yet it causes great unrest with the inhabitants of the village. Minister underlined that SAF were not present in the village, and that the lives of the villagers had not been put in danger.

- We should bear in mind that SAF opened roads towards this village last year, as this is one of the farthest villages in Kursumlija region thus making it one of the most exposed to threats. Furthermore, the members of the Third Brigade are conducting daily patrols along the administrative line lying next to the4 village of Rasevac.
