Minister Stefanović meets with Austrian Minister of Defence Tanner

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met with the Austrian Federal Minister of Defence, Klaudia Tanner, in Vienna today. The two ministers discussed defence cooperation between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Stefanović said that the main objective in Serbia’s foreign policy is membership in the European Union, and he thanked Austria for the support it provides to Serbia on its path to European integration.

Minister Tanner said that Austria will continue to support Serbia on its path to European integration, and the two ministers expressed satisfaction with the cooperation achieved so far, especially in the fields of military medicine and military education.

They concluded that the Agreement on Military Cooperation between the Serbian and Austrian governments, signed in today's meeting, will be an additional incentive for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Stefanović said that military neutrality, which Serbia and Austria opted for, is an excellent framework for the development of cooperation with all partners, while looking after the interests of our people.

Stefanović took the opportunity to invite Minister Tanner to visit Serbia, which she gladly accepted.

Minister Stefanović is on a two-day visit to the Republic of Austria, where he will participate in the Conference of the Ministers of Defence in the so-called “Graz format”, which brings together Austria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
