Traditional "Zoki’s Regatta" held

The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have supported this year’s traditional sailing event "Zoki's Regatta" dedicated to Major Zoran Radosavljević, the 204th Fighter Aviation Regiment pilot who died heroically in March 1999 defending the homeland from the NATO aggression.

The sailing competition which gathered about 80 competitors, members of the Serbian Sailing Association and several hundred admirers of the hero of our country's defence, was held this weekend, on 29 and 30 May, for the 22nd time in a row, simultaneously at two locations. The "laser", "micro" and "cruiser" sailboat classes sailed in the waters around the Great War Island, while the youngest sailors in the "optimist" class competed on the Sava Lake.

The winner of this year's "Zoki's Regatta" in the "optimist" class is Marko Adjanski from the Gemax Sailing Club. Gemax’ sailors Neven Nikolić and Relja Milovanović won in the "laser standard" and "laser 4.7" classes. Zlatan Zlatković from the Zemun Sailing Club was the best in the "micro" class, while Miljana Zeković, member of the same club, took first place in the "laser radial" class. Ivan Cvejić from the Ada Sailing Club won in the "cruiser" class.
The first "Zoki's Regatta" was held on the Montenegrin coast in September 1999, at the initiative of Major Zoran Radosavljević’s friend, who shared his passion for sailing. For the next ten years, the competition was organized in the waters of the Bay of Kotor, and since 2008 it has been held in Belgrade.
