Minister Stefanović meets with representatives of “Zastava Arms“



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the management and representatives of the Zastava Arms’ Supervisory Board and trade union.
 
The meeting participants informed the Minister about their current activities and plans for this year, and then laid out their visions of the future production process development and the improvement of employees’ position.
Minister Stefanović pointed out that this was an extremely significant company for the Serbian Armed Forces, but also for Kragujevac and our country, and that it was important that all factors in this company should contribute to its functioning and further development.
 
He also stressed the importance of this company’s operations in maintaining and enhancing the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces in the field of new weapon systems development and their serial production.
 
The meeting was attended by the CEO of “Zastava Arms” Mladen Petković, Supervisory Board Chairman Colonel Ivica Marjanović, Supervisory Board member Lieutenant Colonel Slobodan Čikarić, as well as presidents of representative trade unions:  “Nezavisnost” - Veselin Jevremović, Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions - Snežana Vasiljević and Industrial Trade Union Zastava Arms – Dragan Milosavljević. Representatives of the Independent Trade Union were also invited to the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the Ministry of Defence State Secretary Branko Živanović and Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD.
