Students of Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies visited the exhibition 'Defence 78'

More than 50 students of the Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies visited today the exhibition of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces ‘Defence 78’, organised at the Belgrade City Museum to mark the 20th anniversary of the defence of the homeland against NATO aggression.

Mentor at the Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies, Marija Milićević, said that what made the biggest impression on her was the room showing photographs of child victims during the NATO aggression, but also the part dedicated to the heroes from Košare.

- I have mixed feelings. I feel proud of our people, but I also feel grief because of everything that happened. I am glad that such an exhibition is shown and that much more is talked about and known today than in any previous period. I would recommend that everyone visit the exhibition, because I think that we should never forget what happened to our country, Marija Milićević said.

The student of the first year of vocational studies in criminalistics, Filip Dumanović, believes that all younger generations should visit the exhibition “because it is set in memory of soldiers, policemen and civilians who gave their lives for freedom”.

- What I liked most is the room showing parts of the downed F-16 aircraft, downed by our air defence unit in 1999, but also the model of the MiG-29 aircraft, particularly the part dedicated to the killed pilot, Milenko Pavlović, Dumanović said.

The multimedia and interactive exhibition ‘Defence 78’ by Dušan Jovović, demonstrates in a unique way the heroic defence of the country during the 78 days of NATO aggression and is dedicated to the perished military and police personnel and civilians, including many children.

The exhibition is divided into eight units, and the presented exhibits, including parts of the downed US stealth F-117A and F-16 aircraft, personal items and photographs of soldiers and policemen who fought for freedom of their homeland are original.

The exhibition ‘Defence 78’ was realised with the support of the Military Museum and the Museum of Aeronautics, and the valuable contribution was provided by the units of the Serbian Armed Forces.
