Minister Vulin: Greater Albania is a threat




 
The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, met with the Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic, Evangelos Apostolakis, who attended today's presentation in Niš.
 
Minister Apostolakis, who, at the invitation of Minister Vulin, attended today's parade in Niš, congratulated the Serbian Minister of Defence on an impressive demonstration carried out by members of the military and police.
 
During the meeting, Minister Apostolakis praised the wise policy of President Aleksandar Vučić in resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and expressed the expectation that a compromise solution would be found for the issue of the southern Serbian province. The Greek Defence Minister confirmed his country's support to the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Serbia.
 
During the talks with his Greek counterpart, Minister Vulin stressed that Serbia is grateful for the continued support of Greece in preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija, which is a confirmation of the genuine friendship of the two countries and two nations.
 
As Minister Vulin emphasised, the formation of the so-called Kosovo Armed Forces is absolutely unacceptable for the Republic of Serbia and poses a threat to the entire region. He stated that KFOR is the only guarantor of security in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with Resolution 1244.
 
Minister Vulin also emphasised that the creation of Greater Albania is the biggest security threat to the Republic of Serbia and the Balkans.
 
Minister Vulin said that he supported the policy of Greece, as well as the Prespa Agreement reached between Northern Macedonia and the Hellenic Republic.
 
During today's meeting, the ministers discussed current defence cooperation and agreed that there is room for its enhancement, and as the most important areas of cooperation, they pointed out the holding of joint exercises.
 
Minister Vulin emphasised the importance of the participation of the Serbian Armed Forces in the HELBROC combat group, where Greece is the lead nation, within which the Serbian Armed Forces will take an active part from the next year. In the forthcoming period, a joint participation in MILEX and TALOS exercises has been planned.
 
Minister Vulin also emphasised the importance of cooperation in the field of military education, reminding that a number of Serbian officers have passed advanced courses in military schools in the Hellenic Republic, and he made an invitation to Minister Apostolakis for Greek officers to be schooled in our military schools.
 
The defence ministers of Serbia and Greece agreed in the assessment that there is potential for the development of military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
