Meeting Held of the Conference of National Armaments Directors





Meeting of the Conference of National Armaments Directors was held today in Brussels in the format of the interoperability platform at which Serbia was represented by Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović.

At the meeting, attended by representatives of 42 countries, the participants reviewed the work of the Conference of National Directors in the previous year and they were informed about the progress made in the work of groups for defence capabilities in the framework of main arms armament groups. During the meeting, a particular attention was dedicated to the analysis of certain national solutions regarding the approach to innovations in the field of defence investments, and opportunities offered by cooperation with sector of commerce in the domain of building defence capabilities.

The present were addressed by a representative of the European Defence Agency who pointed out the significance of enhancing cooperation in the areas of research and development, joint building of capabilities and cooperation with the industry.

On the side-lines of the meeting, Miloradović spoke with national directors of Sweden, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania on contemporary trends in development and production of arms and military equipment, and about the challenges which that process faces. The discussion was held about current and potential joint projects for development and equipment and cooperation between defence industries.

The Conference of National Armaments Directors deals with activities relating to research, development and production of arms and military equipment and it is open for the cooperation with partner states in accordance with their national requirements and capacities.
