Continued Discussion on Amendments to Draft Law on Military Education




 
The Serbian National Assembly continued today its work discussing the amendments to the Draft Law on Military Education, and the meeting is also attended by Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin.
 
The MPs submitted a total of 653 amendments to the Draft Law on Military Education, and the Government proposed to the National Assembly to adopt one amendment.
 
A total of 1,600 amendments were submitted to all draft laws in the field of defence.
 
The agenda of the Fourth Sitting of the First Ordinary Session, which began with the adoption of the agenda on 24th April, there are 14 items, because in addition to 13 items proposed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Maja Gojković, the MPs adopted the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly, proposed by the Serbian Radical Party.
 
Members of the Serbian Parliament concluded the discussion in principle on a set of laws in the field of defence on 27th April and adopted proposals for decisions related to the participation of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in multinational operations this year.
 
The agenda of the session included the Proposal of the Decision on the Adoption of the Annual Plan for the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations in 2018, then the Proposal of the Decision on the Participation of Serbian Armed Forces Personnel in Multinational Operations in 2018.
 
The MPs will also discuss the Draft Law amending the Law on Defence, the Draft Law amending the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces, and the Draft Law on Production and Trade in Weapons and Military Equipment.
 
The seventh item on the agenda is the Draft Law amending the Law on the Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces and Other Defence Forces in Multinational Operations outside the Republic of Serbia Borders, the eighth item is the Draft Law amending the Law on Military, Labour and Material Obligations, and the ninth one is the Draft Law amending the Law on Security Information Agency.
 
The agenda includes also the Draft Law on ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of the State of Israel concerning Military, Defence and Defence-Industrial Cooperation, the Draft Law on ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Greece on Cooperation within the Athens Multi-national Strategic and Maritime Coordination Centre.
 
The last two items of the agenda are the Draft Law on ratification of the Aviation Cooperation Memorandum between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the Draft Law on ratification of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Romania.
