Minister Vulin: Terrorist Act of Killing Oliver Ivanović Must Be Resolved

Asked whether yesterday’s assassination of Oliver Ivanović endangers security in this region, Minister Vulin pointed out, during his visit to the 21st Infantry Battalion in Raška, that it was a terrible crime that had shaken not only Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, but every human being and that he was visiting Raška precisely because the event that had taken place on the previous day.

- When you live to see a man being killed in the middle of the day, and when you see such things repeating and happening, then you have to be disturbed. We are all disturbed, of course, but all state bodies of the Republic of Serbia are ready to do their part to find the culprits, to punish them and to stop this from repeating ever again. We are not asking from anybody to participate in the investigation, we demand that the data are sent to our state bodies, that the information and data are sent to the Office of Prosecutor in charge of this monstrous act, so that we can work and find out who killed Oliver Ivanović. If the representatives of the international community are not able to do it, leave it to us, and then admit your failure, just like you were not able, or you did not want to find out who killed over 1000 Serbs from the moment when the international community had taken responsibility for the life in Kosovo and Metohija and for the justice in that area. If you are not capable of doing it, then leave it to us, and we will be capable of doing it. Solving this monstrous crime is of the utmost interest, as well as finding out who committed it in order to have him punished for it, and ascertaining who is behind this crime. The state of Serbia perceives peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija as its utmost interest and that is why this act has to be solved and punished – the minister of defence said.
