Meeting with the Representatives of Independent Union of Metalworkers of Serbia



Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, with his associates, met the representatives of Independent Union of Metalworkers of Serbia which gathers six economic operators of Serbian defence industry.

At the meeting, in a constructive discussion, the interlocutors talked about the current situation regarding the draft Law on production and trade in arms and military equipment, further level of technological upgrade of factories and current problems that burden the business of defence industry companies.

Minister Vulin stressed that a process had been initiated to remove those factories from the list of the public resources users, which would be harmonised in the period to come with the Ministry of Finance and that would give more flexible conditions to the management of those companies to resolve the status issues of the employees as soon as the beginning of the second quarter that year.

The representatives of the Independent union expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Defence and President Vučić for having made great efforts to maintain the capacities of the factories and to resolve problems accumulated from the previous period, and stated that the meeting of that sort were desirable and that the practice should be continued in the period to come.
