Minister Vulin: Investment in military medicine is an investment in the whole society

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin visited Military Medical Centre Karaburma, where free medical examinations for all citizens have continued today, within the framework of the campaign of the Ministry of Defence.

Last Saturday, 375 patients were examined in Belgrade, 465 in Niš, and 482 in Novi Sad which, rounding up last week's activity with today's examinations, counts more than 1500 examined.

Minister Vulin stated on this occasion that in all military medical centres in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, the free examination campaign has been continued today for all our fellow citizens who have not been able to be examined last time.

- Military health care, of course, is primarily available to the military insured persons, but it is a part of everyday life and we wish to share our knowledge and our resources and quality of employees in our military health service also with civil population. Every investment in military medicine and every investment in the Serbian Armed Forces in the end shows to be investment in the general standard and the best possible investment in the quality of life in each of us - the minister of defence emphasized.

According to him, the Serbian Armed Forces and our health institutions will continue with this campaign.

- Today, in our MMC Karaburma only, 170 people have been examined at specialist check-ups, 120 in ultrasound, 51 on various diagnoses, so we can say that all those who came to military institutions were examined and I hope, satisfied, and I am proud of the Armed Forces to which the Military Medical Centre belongs – Minister Vulin said.

Head of the Centre of Military Medical Institutions, Belgrade, Colonel Slavoljub Staletović, thanked citizens for giving us recognition and responded to this invitation to be examined here, as well as to Minister Vulin and the Military Health Department for giving us opportunity to see the functioning of military health service.

- We had two campaigns, and that of today's is much better and much more quality organized because we made appointments for the patients at a certain time and there was no waiting, and we did everything that was needed. We hope, as the minister said, that there will be more such campaigns and that citizens who have not managed to come, and who have persistently called us these days, will have the opportunity to see how the military health system works", Colonel Staletović said.

The free examination campaign for the citizens was received with great interest in all the cities in which it was organized, so it is to be continued in the military health centres this Saturday, too. Citizens also expressed their satisfaction with the professionalism and quality of work of employees in military health centres.
