Joint session of the collegiums of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff

The joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the extended Collegium of the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces has been held today at the Guards Club at Topčider. The session was chaired by Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin.

In addition to regular reporting on key activities and the state of the defence system, the focus of the session was on meeting the Minister of Defence and the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces during the preparations for the demonstration of a part of the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces at Batajnica Airport - "Freedom 2017", which will be part of marking the Belgrade Liberation Day on 20th October.

In addition to the usual analysis of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, the joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the extended Collegium of the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces specifically considered the implementation of the plan for procurement of new arms and military equipment, including the equipping of 1,500 soldiers with state-of-the-art equipment and weapons.

As it was concluded at the joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff, in parallel with the admission of new professional soldiers under contract, the investments in improving the material position of members of the Serbian Armed Forces and their families continue, just like the already increased daily subsistence allowances, a significant increase in wages is expected, as well as a major housing construction project.
