New issue of ODBRANA
After several years of pause, training of members of the reserve force of combat units is being realised in units and on training areas of the Serbian Armed Forces. On the entire Serbian territory, "blue envelopes" that arrived to the addresses of conscripts with the first days of June have provoked contradictory public comments. Response to the call-up for training exercise some used as an occasion for debate, and many have accepted the execution of their constitutional and legal obligation and an opportunity to remember the skills learned during military days without hesitation. Following the story, the team of Odbrana magazine visited the training areas and units of the Serbian Armed Forces and talked with commanding officers who conduct training and members of the reserve element, and you can read about their impressions in article "Army of the Second Echelon".
On the pages of this issue of Odbrana magazine we are also conveying the experience from the ten-day command post exercise "LOGEX 17", held in Tirana, from 8 to 19 May, which was another opportunity for members of the logistics personnel in the Serbian Armed Forces to show a high level of professionalism and interoperability in competition with their colleagues logisticians from nine European countries.We followed the exercise Falcon 2017, carried out by Greek and Serbian special forces members in Niš, from 21st to 31st May, with photographs and texts. Their cooperation ended with live shooting exercise entitled "Parachute team in the counterinsurgency fight, using special landing", about which you can read under the heading "Defence".
The pages of our magazine dedicated to sports we devoted to the reports from the memorial 19th sailing regatta "Zoran Radosavljevic", which was held in Belgrade on 27th and 28th May. On two racing fields, on the Danube and Sava rivers, 71 sailing boat crews competed in the following classes: "micro" - 5.5 meters long, "cruiser", more than 5.5 meters long, "laser" and "optimistic", for boys and girls up to 14 years of age. At this year's "regatta with emotions" more than 100 sailors took part in the competition. Members of the River Flotilla secured the regatta field, cadets of the Military Academy assisted in the organization of the race and competed within the sailing crews, while members of the Air Force and Air Defence, by sorties of helicopters of "gazelle" type, symbolically marked the beginning of the regatta in memory of their fellow pilot Major Zoran Radosavljević.
