Lieutenant Colonel Miroslav Perišić Burried



Today, Lieutenant Colonel of the Serbian Armed Forces, Miroslav Perišić was buried at the Central town cemetery in Kragujevac with military and church honours. Lieutenant Colonel Perišić tragically lost his life in the explosion that happened two days ago in the Technical Overhaul Facility in Kragujevac. Apart from the family, many colleagues, friends and neighbours of the perished Lieutenant Colonel, the sad event that shook the heart of Šumadija was attended by the Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević with his closest associates, the mayor of Kragujevac, Radomir Nikolić and numerous members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
The funeral service for the perished Colonel Perišić was served by church dignitaries of Šumadija eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church headed by the Bishop of Šumadija  Jovan. Pointing out the virtues of Colonel Perišić, Bishop Jovan underlined that “he knew how to listen and that was why he was a good commander and a man who loved his people”.
 
For his merits in the Eparchy of Šumadija of the SOC and his humble way of life, Colonel Perišić was posthumously awarded the Order of Symeon the Myrrh-Streaming wish was received by his son Veljko from the hands of Bishop Jovan.
 
On behalf of numerous members of the heroic 250th AD Rocket Brigade, the last salute to tragically killed Perišić was given by Acting Commander Milan Popović who said that the self-sacrificing officer left behind the memories and recollections of his colleagues of their work with a great man with a good and noble soul.
 
- You were an officer with a great heart, unselfish friend of soldiers, skilful and dedicated co-worker of superiors and tenacious teacher to subordinates. We have lost a great and sincere friend. Until the very last day, you were extraordinary, good and exemplary officer, loyal life companion and loved father and husband. Serbia is proud for having had such a respect deserving officer, and as long as there are the rocketeers the memory of you shall live and inspire- said Colonel Milan Popović, saying farewell to Colonel Miroslav Perišić.
