I extend my congratulations to all the members of the Geodetic Service on the occasion of the 5th February – the Day of the Service.
In the previous year, you have achieved notable results in the field of geotopographic provision of our Armed Forces and in the implementation of the projects which bear wider social significance, continuing the tradition initiated in 1876 when Prince Milan Obrenović passed a decision on the establishment of the Geography Division assigned to survey Serbia for military needs.
With the wishes that you continue developing and promoting the Geodesy service in the future, to discharge the tasks assigned in a professional and high quality fashion thus giving full contribution to operational and functional capabilities of both Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence, I congratulate you on this occasion.
Congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of Military Archive
I extend my congratulations to all the members of the Military Archive on the occasion of the 5th February – the Day of the institution.
In the past year, the Military Archive gave a significant contribution to the protection of cultural heritage of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as of the Republic of Serbia, thus continuing the tradition of the Third History Department of the General Staff established back in 1876. In the years when we mark the jubilee of the First World War, by processing archival data you are demonstrating the manner in which national traditions should be cherished.
Owing to the perseverance in researching and gathering archival material from the rich cultural treasury of the Military Archive, I am confident that in the period ahead of us, you will achieve distinguished results in the field of scientific and research wok, and I wish you a lot of success in that endeavour.
Congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the Institute for Strategic Research
I extend my cordial congratulations to all the members of the Institute for Strategic Research on the occasion of the 5th February – the Day of the Institute.
The first institutionalised engagement in military history dates back to 1876, when Prince Milan Obrenovic passed a Decree on the “Establishment of the General Staff”, on the basis of which the General Staff was envisaged to consist of three departments, whereat the third department was history one. The Institute for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Defence continues and preserves these traditions. Furthermore, while gathering archival material for writing military history, professor of history and geography in Artillery School, Jovan Dragašević in his first official proposal, points out numerous segments of war and military skills to then Minister of Defence.
I congratulate you on this occasion, confident that in the period to come, you will continue to give full contribution both in the field of historical and scientific and research work, and in the field of promoting the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence.
