Minister Djordjević meets Ambassador Dittmann

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjević and the German Ambassador to Belgrade Axel Dittmann discussed the continuation of cooperation in the field of defence.

The meeting concluded that cooperation in this area was intensive and followed the overall development trend of relations between the two countries, primarily political and economic ones. The cooperation and joint involvement of Serbian and German teams in the EU mission in Mali were especially highlighted.

Germany's support in the European integration process of our country, which is a key foreign policy goal, is especially important for Serbia, Minister Djordjević said. In the framework of cooperation with the EU, the Ministry of Defence contributes to the implementation of the Common Security and Defence Policy, primarily through involvement in EU crisis management operations, as well as through cooperation with the European Defence Agency.

Apart from the cooperation in multinational operations, the key areas are also military education and military medical cooperation. Minister Djordjević and Ambassador Dittmann talked about the prospects of further development of military economic cooperation, specifically with Airbus Group, for the supply of helicopters and improving the skills of Moma Stanojlović Aviation Institute in order to obtain the status of a regional centre for maintenance of Gazelle helicopters.
