Signing agreements on cooperation at Military Geography Institute
At the premises of the Military Geography Institute, today, agreements on business and technical cooperation have been signed between the Military Geography Institute and the Republic Geodetic Authority and the Military Geography Institute and ‘Srbijašume’ Public Enterprise for Forest Management.The subject of the agreement between the Military Geography Institute and the Republic Geodetic Authority is joint production of digital terrain models for the territory of Serbia, which is the capital work of national importance. The subject of the agreement between the Military Geography Institute and ‘Srbijašume’ Public Enterprise is joint production of geospatial database of forests in the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
The implementation of these contracts will provide relevant information necessary for creating a new topographic map 1: 25,000 scale, and other geotopographic materials necessary for the units and establishments of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Today's signing of contracts specifies the activities of three very significant state bodies on the joint development of data that are of interest for the defence system and beyond. The signing of cooperation agreements represents a concrete and an excellent example of good cooperation between the state bodies and rational use of state resources.
On behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the contracts were signed by Brigadier General Ilija Todorov, Chief of Intelligence and Reconnaissance Operations Department (J-2) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, on behalf of the Republic Geodetic Authority, by Acting Director Borko Drašković, and on behalf of PE ‘Srbijašume’, by Acting Director Predrag Aleksić, PhD.
