Signing of the agreement between Zastava Trucks and Ministry of Economy
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and his associates has attended today in Kragujevac the meeting and the signing of the agreement between the Zastava Trucks LLC factory and at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia.
It is the Agreement on the substitution for the fulfilment and transfer of property between Zastava Trucks LLC and the Republic of Serbia, which was signed by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Dragan Stevanovic, and Director of the Kragujevac factory, Zoran Adzic. This document establishes a new company that will produce commercial vehicles, as well as bodyshells for combat vehicles.Namely, by the coordinated action of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economy, in accordance with the solutions defined by the Law on Privatization, the Government made a conclusion that stipulates the allocation of part of the assets of the Zastava Trucks LLC, transfer to the Republic of Serbia by substituting the fulfilment, as well as the establishment of a new company, in majority state owned, which will preserve vital manufacturing and technological capacities necessary for the planned production of arms and military equipment.
During the visit to Kragujevac, Minister of Defence Djordjevic and State Secretary Stevanovic visited the plants of Zastava Trucks, where they had the opportunity to review the current production capacities and planned development projects.
